Things to Do

Kate's Recommendations

We are so excited to have our people in Nashville during the best time of the year- Fall! I live for a Fall day bopping around on 12 South. Might I suggest starting the day by getting a coffee and breakfast at Frothy Monkey. After you get your caffeine fix, shop the shops on 12 south. My favorite store on the planet is White’s Mercantile (it’s owned by Hank Williams Jr.’s daughter). Also don’t miss Imogene + Willie or Hart. For a little sweet treat, Fryce Cream (french fries and soft serve ice cream) does it for me.

Broadway is of course just a couple of miles down the road. I personally love a Pedal Tavern, even as a local (if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em). The Stage is my favorite honky tonk on Broadway. **Pro tip: If the line out front is looking a bit long, use the entrance in the back alley.

If you’re looking for a lovely culinary experience, my two staples are City House and Rolf and daughters in the Germantown neighborhood. At CH, definitely throw

in a Belly Ham pizza with an egg on top- trust me. For a nightcap, Mother's Ruin is a cool indoor/outdoor spot with fun cocktails and it’s just a short walk.

This time of year, I highly recommend not rushing to get home and go through Leiper’s Fork. It’s about 40 minutes out of Nashville in Williamson County, and it is stunning and off the beaten path. I recommend either The Country Boy for breakfast or Fox & Locke for lunch. F&L has live music on the weekends with no cover charge. Leiper’s Fork is one of my favorite places to be in the Fall and you’ll understand why if you go. If you’re liking what you’re hearing, make a reservation at Wines in the Fork for a wine tasting in a creek. You’ll be charmed!

(Hi, Woody here) If you’re staying in Green Hills, your first stop should be Food Company/Greenhouse for a delightful breakfast sandwich served in a greenhouse. This is a weekly spot for Kate and me. It’s delicious and has lots of options on the menu for breakfast and lunch. Another option is lady bird taco in 12 south for 10/10 breakfast tacos.

Definitely take a tour of 12 South on foot. It’s home to my favorite bbq in Nashville, Edley’s. Chances are there will be a line, but it’s worth it. For dessert, Jeni’s ice cream is just down the street.

For Dinner, I second what Kate said about City house and the belly ham pizza. Don’t forget the egg on top. For a more laid-back experience, Dicey’s Pizza is in our neighborhood and has an awesome back patio.

If you’re planning on sticking around to watch college football on Saturday, Bringle’s Smoking Oasis is a super cool spot for viewing. It’s all outside with dozens of picnic tables and a massive screen for college football. For a rowdier time, Yee Haw Brewing is also a favorite for watching football on their multiple big screens. Just a couple of blocks from Broadway, it’s guaranteed to be packed. **Warning: The day after our wedding is the third Saturday in October. Beware of Alabama/Tennessee fans.
